Leon Hogan is considered by many other people to be an asshole, but it may just be that he's misunderstood. When Leon was 8 his brother Nick was killed in front of him and his mother. Since then Leon has had a big chip on his shoulder he really doesn't trust anyone his brother's old friend, Fritz Baugh. The two became close when Fritz lived in Newark for a time (an accident short-circuiting his academic career), and Fritz helped him get his first job as a Cook at The White Diamond (A sleazy little joint with some of the best burgers around)

At the age of 19 Leon decided to attended college he went to Newark Community College; after a year and a half Leon decided that college was not the place for him and decided to look else where. Leon then moved out of Newark telling his Mother, who he still lived with, that "It was a shit hole that he never wanted to return to again".

He relocated to Garwood, NJ, there he found a job as a Bartender at an establishment called Crossroads. That job lasted about 7 months until the bartender accused Leon of drinking on the job so Leon punched him in the face.

It was while Leon was holding down a series of odd jobs, and occassionally wandering around in his Jeep Wrangler, that Fritz came back to Newark in September of 2003 on Ghostbuster business. The ghost turned out to be Leon's late brother, and the Ghostbusters West Coast's leader, Joey Williams, was impressed with Leon's handling of the situation.

When John Lipsyte sacrificed himself to stop Anubis in April 2004, Williams suggested Leon take his place on the North Team roster. After some tense moments early on, where he quarrelled with some of his teammates, he had begun to fit in. However, the attacks by Ashram in August 2004 left the team disbanded, and Leon returned to Newark. He is still listed as a Reservist, and might appear to help out from time to time.
